Homemade Popcorn

Ridiculously easy, this popcorn is ready in less than 5 minutes!

a great high-volume snack that’s rich in fiber, lightly seasoned with butter and a pinch of salt.

This recipe is ideal for weight-classed athletes cutting weight or anyone seeking a light snack or evening treat.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup popcorn kernels

  • 1 tsp. vegetable oil

  • 1/2 tbsp. (7 grams) unsalted butter

  • Salt to taste (preferably sea salt or Himalayan pink salt)

Directions:

  • Pop the Kernels:

    • Heat a large pot over medium-high heat and add the oil.

    • Once the oil is hot, add the popcorn kernels and cover the pot with a lid.

    • Shake the pot occasionally to prevent burning and ensure even popping.

    • Continue cooking until the popping slows down to about 2 seconds between pops, then remove the pot from the heat.

  • Prepare the Butter:

    • While the popcorn is popping, melt the butter in a small microwave-safe bowl or on the stovetop.

  • Combine and Season:

    • Transfer the popped popcorn to a large bowl.

    • Drizzle the melted butter over the popcorn and toss well to coat.

    • Sprinkle salt to taste and toss again to distribute evenly.

🍿 Cinnamon Sugar

Mix 1 tsp. of ground cinnamon with 1 tsp. of sugar. Sprinkle over the buttered popcorn and toss to coat.

🍿 Garlic Parmesan

Sprinkle 1 tsp. of garlic powder and 2 tbsp. of grated Parmesan cheese over the popcorn. Toss well.

🍿 Spicy Chili Lime

Combine 1 tsp. of chili powder with 1/2 tsp. of lime zest. Sprinkle over the popcorn and toss to mix.
